Leading wine and spirits distributor implements Management Dynamics' online supplier collaboration and global inventory management solution

East Rutherford, NJ — July 27, 2006 — Glazer's Wholesale Drug Co., the second largest distributor of wine and spirits in the United States, said this week that it has implemented Management Dynamics' Supply Chain Visibility and Event Management solution for use throughout its domestic and international supply chain operations.

The solution provides Glazer's with real-time order and shipment visibility, synchronizes logistics information across Glazer's supplier and trading partner network, and measures and analyzes the performance of Glazer's vendors and service providers using scorecards and reports.

Since going live in April, Glazer's said the system has already delivered a number of benefits, including better visibility of inbound inventory, a better understanding of supply variability leading to fewer stock-outs, and improved communication and collaboration with global vendors and eventually suppliers.

Glazer's said it selected Management Dynamics' visibility solution from more than 20 other competitive solutions for its functionality, reliability and user-friendliness, as well as its ability to ultimately integrate with Glazer's core purchasing and replenishment system.

The Web-based solution will replace manual order and shipment tracking processes, which frequently led to significant delays and difficulty in determining accurate inventory levels and expected arrival dates for shipments.

With this implementation, users have access to real-time data on shipment dispatches and warehouse receipts, enabling them to better manage safety stock levels at each distribution center, avoid expediting and reduce domestic transportation costs.

The include closer collaboration with the vendor community to manage system-wide inventory; linking orders with shipments and in-transit status updates to better manage international, domestic and intra-company movements; event alerting capabilities based on milestone plans that anticipate potential fulfillment issues and prompt rapid resolution; and measurement and analysis of vendor and carrier performance using scorecards and ad-hoc reporting tools.
