Dulles, VA — March 31, 2005 — Transportation, storage and distribution solutions provider Cavalier Logistics announced the availability of its new controlled environment room at Dulles Airport. The company said the room is designed for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare and government customers to meet their time-sensitive, regulated and rapid deployment logistics requirements.

Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Pharmacy, Cavalier's controlled environment room can accommodate products such as vaccines, pharmaceuticals and diagnostic kits in addition to research reagents from antibodies to substrates to cell culture media.

The validated room is built to handle diverse clients with specific needs from pallets, bins, trays, kits, and bottles, to small ampoules or vials.

Cavalier said the location is good for organizations that require domestic, regional or international logistics for finished goods, bulk solutions, component material, in-process goods, retain storage or materials strategically staged for rapid deployment.

In the room are climate controlled and redundant systems, with temperatures that are constantly monitored and incapable of freezing, according to Cavalier. The room is set to five degrees Celsius with a tolerance of plus or minus two degrees. Additionally, the company said, the controlled environment room exceeds security standards with over eleven layers of protection.

Tim Holdaway, president of Cavalier Logistics, commented, "We have advanced controls and computerized systems in place to constantly monitor the environment. Having these capabilities are essential to meeting our clients' requirements and ideal for those who want to outsource their cold storage needs."
