Sunnyvale, CA — June 8, 2005 — JLG Industries Inc., a producer of access equipment and highway-speed telescopic hydraulic excavators, said today that it has selected Ariba's sourcing solutions to manage close to $350 million of its spend over the next two years across a wide range of commodities, including both direct manufacturing and indirect consumable materials.

Specifically, JLG will use Ariba Sourcing Services and Ariba QuickSource.

"At JLG, our philosophy is to seek to be the best in terms of safety, reliability, productivity and efficiency," said Bryan Harris, vice president, Supply Chain, JLG. "To deliver on this, we must be successful in taking cost out and improving supplier quality, warranty and deliveries throughout our supply chain. We believe Ariba can help us quickly achieve bottom-line results with their category expertise and their experience sourcing heavy equipment components and hundreds of other commodities around the world."

As part of its strategic business initiatives, JLG has set a goal to save $100 million from 2005 to 2009. Ariba's sourcing solutions and services are expected to be a key enabler in JLG's efforts to reach this target.
