Retail giant deploys software to address additional secure file transfer requirements
Dallas, TX — November 30, 2004 — Secure file transfer and enterprise connectivity software provider iSoft Corp. today announced that its flagship product, iSoft Commerce Suite, used by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to exchange electronic data interchange (EDI) documents with its top-tier suppliers, is now being used in other areas of the business. Wal-Mart is employing the software to manage the secure transmission of files supporting operational processes such as credit card authorization, associate benefits transactions, warehouse distribution, decision support and vendor-managed inventory (VMI).
iSoft said the suite is designed to ensure that digital information and transactions transmitted over the Internet remain private, protected, and verifiable. Since implementing the iSoft Commerce Suite solution, Wal-Mart said it has been able to take advantage of the high speed and global reach of the Internet and benefit from reduced costs, improved bottom-line savings and shortened cycle times.
The ability to secure communications and execute workflows, as well as centrally manage partner profiles and control data transmissions, is key to centralizing both commerce-driven and operational-driven B2B environments, according to Gartner analyst L. Frank Kenney. As a result, companies should consider B2B gateway technologies to consolidate, secure and control information flow for both types of B2B interactions.
An IP-based secure file transfer software solution, iSoft Commerce Suite employs a modular architecture, interfaces with back-end systems and supports multiple platforms, protocols, security levels, data formats and file sizes. It also has a centralized administration tools for creating and managing user profiles, and monitoring and managing the system.
Roy Hogsed, president and CEO, iSoft Corp, said, We are pleased to be working with the world's largest retailer and helping them to use the Internet to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and better manage their B2B process flows.
