Grand Rapids, Mich.—Feb. 4, 2014—Dematic, a supplier of systems for the factory, warehouse and distribution center, announced its acquisition of Upturn Solutions, a provider of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) designed for distribution, manufacturing and warehouse environments. The acquisition of the Bigfork, Mont.-based Upturn enhances Dematic solutions and expands its capability into distribution center workflow, asset and inventory management, and preventive maintenance.

"The integration of CMMS into our software offering will further enhance our ability to deliver robust order fulfillment solutions that provide competitive advantage for the diversified markets we serve, including e-commerce, retail, apparel, healthcare, third-party logistics, food, beverage, parcel and manufacturing."
The Dematic CMMS offering is a subscription-based service designed by maintenance people for maintenance people. The product offers the customer the ability to "pay as you go" rather than requiring a large upfront investment.
The Bigfork office location will continue operations, including research and development, sales and service.
