Personal care company implementing solutions for sourcing, demand management and fulfillment

New York, NY — January 21, 2005 — Personal care specialist MD Beauty will implement a suite of applications from Jesta I.S. to help manage the company's sourcing, demand management and fulfillment processes, the solution provider announced this week.

Headquartered in San Francisco, MD Beauty is one of the fastest growing personal care companies in the U.S. market. The company was created by the November 2001 merger of Bare Escentuals and MD Formulations.

MD Beauty will implement Jesta I.S.' complete Vision Suite of solutions, including the Vision Merchandising product to help mange the company's retail operations. The Vision Merchandising module offers globally accessible, real-time information from warehouses and stores, enabling multi-store stock balancing, more accurate replenishments and more effective negotiations with suppliers, Jesta said.

In addition, MD Beauty will use Jesta's Vision Sourcing module to manage the procurement of raw materials and finished goods from factories, suppliers and contractors. The application manages multiple procurement and production paths, as well as monitoring the associated costs for individual products.

Jesta said its Vision Demand Management solution will enable MD Beauty to monitor customer demand and optimize delivery of available merchandise. MD Beauty will now have the ability to manage all phases of order processing, prioritize allocation of inventory, generate pick slip and invoices, control return authorizations and issue credit memos, according to the solution provider.

Finally, MD Beauty also will implement the Web-based supply chain management module Vision.FC. This module enables real-time visibility into the various steps in the supply chain and can help improve supplier communications while eliminating bottlenecks in the supply chain, Jesta said. The features included with Vision.FC are tracking, bidding, logistics and sales link, which enables both sales professionals and external partners to have access to pertinent order and product information.

Other companies using Jesta's solutions include Perry Ellis, UNIONBAY, London Fog and Maidenform, among others.
