Walnut Creek, CA March 25, 2005 SmartCompany, provider of a Web-based customer relationship management (CRM) solution, has unveiled two new editions of its flagship solution while simultaneously introducing monthly pricing options designed to provide small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) with new levels of affordability and control over their subscriptions to the CRM apps.

Designed to meet the needs of the SME market, SmartCompany's eponymous solution is intended to help companies shorten sales cycles, close more opportunities, gain insight into the sales process, and coordinate sales activities with customer service, fulfillment, accounting and other key company functions, the solution provider said.

SmartCompany said its solution's new monthly pricing coincides with the debut of a revamped corporate Web site that presents the details of SmartCompany's hosted services.

Currently the SmartCompany editions include:

  • SmartCompany Solo — the original one-user contact management solution. Available free to single users, SmartCompany Solo includes a contact manager, calendar/to-do list and activity history;

  • SmartCompany Sales (formerly SmartCompany Startup) — a team selling product that offers the contact management capability of SmartCompany Solo plus sales pipeline management, prospect/sales aging, reports, forecasts and more.

    SmartCompany Sales, which is still priced at $995 per year for five users (each additional user is $199), now offers a monthly subscription alternative of $19.95 per user per month, with unlimited user subscriptions available;

  • SmartCompany Corporate (formerly SmartCompany Professional) — includes all the features of SmartCompany Sales as well as order tracking, project management and document sharing. SmartCompany Corporate also provides tracking of booked orders, including invoicing, payments, line items, commissions (with splits among multiple sales reps if desired), and gross and net profit on a per-order basis.

    SmartCompany Corporate supports the bundling of multiple opportunities and/or orders into projects to facilitate team selling. Won opportunities can be converted to booked orders at the click of a button, and any number of computer files, such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets or PDF's, can be uploaded and attached to individual SmartCompany data elements or saved into a shared document library for access by all system users.

    In addition to its existing subscription fee of $1,995 per year for five users (each additional user is $399), SmartCompany Corporate can now be purchased for just $39.95 per user per month with unlimited user subscriptions available.
CORE Support Systems, an Irvine, Calif., company that sells cooling and power systems for mission-critical facilities, has found SmartCompany Corporate to be a major enhancement to its sales effectiveness, the solution provider said.

"Our sales staff are handling 20 to 30 complex projects at a time, and SmartCompany gives us the tools to manage the workload," said Rick Brotherton, president of CORE. "We turn leads into projects, then add opportunities and orders, monitor profitability at the project level and basically track the entire process from end to end. And management can see the details associated with each project, order, customer or salesperson. SmartCompany gives us unprecedented visibility into every aspect of our business while reducing the time it takes to move deals through the sales cycle."

SmartCompany's new editions and monthly pricing options are immediately available.
