Schaumburg, IL March 30, 2005 Intentia, an enterprise solutions provider for the manufacturing, distribution and maintenance industries, has said that Kanthal in Palm Coast, a U.S. manufacturer of precision wire and ultra-fine wire products, has achieved increases in business efficiency across the enterprise with Movex, Intentia's suite of collaborative enterprise applications.

Kanthal in Palm Coast (Kanthal) is a subsidiary of Sandvik AB, a high-technology engineering group with and 37,000 employees in 130 countries.

Kanthal in Palm Coast runs a make-to-order manufacturing environment and has between 300 and 400 orders in production at any given time. The company selected Movex to streamline the production process and eliminate non-value-add activities.

Kanthal implemented Movex to better meet the delivery requirements of its growing customer base by improving lead times, inventory management, production planning and scheduling, as well as distribution. The entire Movex system runs on an IBM iSeries platform at the central data center in Sweden.

Steve June, the information systems manager for Kanthal in North America, was the project manager for several Movex implementations at Kanthal.
