Leading handbag company deploys on demand service for enterprise financial and supply chain applications
San Carlos, CA — May 13 — Handbag company THE SAK announced today that it has chosen enterprise application service provider Corio's Applications on Demand to upgrade and manage its enterprise financial and supply chain applications.
Through its Corio Full Service delivery model, Corio said it would provide infrastructure, application management and support services.
THE SAK was founded in 1989 and is now the fourth largest handbag company in the United States. THE SAK products are sold in over 1900 department stores and specialty stores throughout the United States and in 22 international markets.
"We chose Corio because they are enterprise software experts," said Pamela Vaughan, vice president of information technology at THE SAK. "Corio's functional expertise helps us improve our business processes by taking advantage of the newest version of the software, and Corio Applications on Demand provides an efficient and reliable system with the ability to scale as our business needs evolve."
Corio Applications on Demand is a service that delivers enterprise applications from independent software vendors. Customers "pay-as-you-go" to avoid upfront project and infrastructure costs. Corio Applications on Demand and the Corio Full Service delivery model are available for a monthly fee.
"On demand services improve operational capabilities," said John Ottman, executive vice president of Worldwide Markets at Corio. "By choosing Corio's 'software as a service' model, THE SAK is better able to focus time and resources on core business processes."
