Sybase, Inc., will provide critical e-Business integration for the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Supply Service (FSS) division. The FSS helps federal agencies throughout the world acquire supplies, furniture, computers, tools and equipment.
Sybase's Professional Services organization is working with Computer Technology Associates (CTA), an e-Business solutions provider, to use Sybase(R) Enterprise Portal (EP) and technology from BroadVision, to implement a real-time enterprise portal. The improvements will add a new layer of customization and personalization to the world's largest e-commerce site, GSAAdvantage.GOV. Perhaps more importantly, the portal will serve as a single point of access into GSAAdvantage.GOV for all federal users.
The new portal marks GSAs first phase of improvements for GSAAdvantage.gov. The site currently links 100,000 government buyers with 2,000 vendors and nearly one million products. The first phase is scheduled for a limited release in August and a public release in October, 2000.
