Eyes on the NexPrise

PricewaterhouseCoopers, NexPrise unite in auto initiative

March 14, 2001 NexPrise, a provider of collaborative commerce platforms for B2B exchanges, and professional services organization PricewaterhouseCoopers have announced an alliance aimed at automotive-industry companies that participate in electronic marketplaces. The alliance addresses the need of e-marketplace participants to team on projects and securely link their critical business processes via the Internet.

Together, NexPrise and PricewaterhouseCoopers will deliver e-business solutions and services to clients in the areas of strategic sourcing, collaborative product development and program management and execution.

Since November 2000, PricewaterhouseCoopers has trained 30 of its management consultants on the NexPrise offering, in preparation for a stronger presence in the automotive industry.

Covisint, the automotive e-marketplace, has already tapped NexPrise to implement its collaborative, e-business platform, which connects manufacturers, suppliers, customers and partners in a global, virtual workspace. The workspace allows participants to team up on e-business processes, such as the strategic sourcing of direct materials, joint product development, and program management.  At Covisint, NexPrise will also aid buy-side and sell-side functionality by adding a layer of support for collaborative commerce, including request for quote (RFQ) management, strategic sourcing and the development of complex, custom-manufactured parts and car systems.

"As a leader in e-markets consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers looks forward to working with NexPrise to anticipate and meet the e-markets needs of our current and future automotive clients," said Tom Cucuzza, partner, Management Consulting Services practice, PricewaterhouseCoopers.  "We are excited about including NexPrise's e-markets offerings as part of our overall e-business solutions for clients."

PricewaterhouseCoopers is a market leader in e-business and e-market delivery, and we are pleased to be working with them," said Ram Sriram, founder and president of NexPrise.  "With PricewaterhouseCoopers' worldwide reach and industry experience, we look forward to bringing the benefits of NexPrise's collaborative commerce solution to a global network of clients and industries."
