Foster City, CA May 21, 2001 Supply chain management company Kewill Systems plc announced today it has acquired the assets of Alliance Manufacturing Software, a provider of MRP-II software for emerging manufacturers. Alliance, with corporate headquarters in Goleta, Calif. and international operations based in Leicester, UK, provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to emerging manufacturers that generally total about $1 to $15 million in sales. Its Windows-based products include StartMRP and Alliance/MFG.
Alliance will operate as part of Kewill's ERP division. In the UK, Alliance will be a partner with K3, Kewill ERP's sole distributor of JobBOSS and MAX in the UK market. Kewill ERP provides a line of software and services for the SME market, including MAX, for the larger Tier III discrete, repetitive and mixed-mode industries and JobBOSS, for job shops and make-to-order manufacturers.
The acquisition of Alliance demonstrates our commitment to broadening our reach in the Tier III/SME ERP marketplace, giving us one of the largest installed bases in the world, said Al Peterson, president of Kewill ERP.
Robert Kimball, Alliance president and CEO, explains why the company has joined forces with Kewill: Kewill was the best partner for us to ensure future growth. Kewill provides us with significant distribution and service capabilities necessary to leverage our next phase of expansion, both in the United States and internationally.
This marks Kewill's second acquisition in the past 12 months. Last June, Kewill acquired EVCOR, a leading systems integrator in North America, for $45.5 million.
