Dial Looks to Prescient

Consumer products manufacturer taps demand planning tool to improve forecast accuracy

West Chester, PA May 6, 2002 The Dial Corporation has tapped a demand planning solution from Prescient Systems in an effort to improve the accuracy of consumer demand for its products.

Dial plans to implement Prescient's XEi Demand Planning solution first in its Personal Care division and, assuming success, then roll out the supply chain solution across three more groups under the corporate umbrella.

Mitch Tinnan, Dial's senior vice president for product supply, cited Prescient's experience in the consumer products industry as a key reason his company selected the solution provider. "They understood the unique demands placed on consumer products manufacturers and have built a product and a business around that domain expertise," Tinnan said.

Prescient XEi, the company's flagship supply chain planning suite, spans four areas of supply chain planning: demand, supply, collaboration and performance measurement.
