Greenville, SC October 16, 2002 Solution providers nMetric and Cernotec are partnering to offer nMetric's 4C software to help manufacturers better control their production processes.
nMetric said its solution provides midsize and smaller manufacturers with live scheduling, monitoring and tracking, as well as messaging updates and analyses so that they can oversee their production processes and supervise the dynamics of their supply chains in real time.
Cernotec, an Integrys company, provides manufacturers with turnkey manufacturing execution, intelligence, real-time scheduling and process control technology intended to help reduce waste throughout the factory floor and supply chain.
Under the new partnership, the two companies will offer the solution to Cernotec clients with the goal of allowing those manufacturers to minimize setup scrap and downtime waste, while at the same time maximizing on-time deliveries.
The 4C solution continuously monitors orders throughout the production process in real time to assure status and provide notification to all members in the supply chain if delivery expectations are not going to be met.
When and if resources or demands change or might change, 4C attempts to resolve any problems that could affect delivery dates, and the software can also notify specified parties so they are aware and can plan accordingly.
In the event of prospective large shifts in plans or resources, users can use the solution to manually determine the impact of various "what-ifs" on present order dates in the queue. Management can then anticipate what the effects of each change will be before making them.
"With increased shop floor visibility and real-time scheduling, our clients can make faster and more accurate decisions that significantly impact their overall productivity," explained Jason Premo, Cernotec executive vice president of marketing and business development.
