Cingular Selects Printcafe

Wireless carrier targets print spend with e-procurement solution

Pittsburgh, PA January 14, 2003 Cingular Wireless is set to use an e-procurement solution from Printcafe in a bid to reduce costs by better managing its enterprisewide print procurement.

SBC-BellSouth joint venture Cingular, the second largest wireless carrier in the United States with about $14 billion in revenues, will use Printcafe's EnterpriseSite solution to automate its print procurement processes.

Printcafe says that the solution will give Cingular greater control over the procurement of printed materials across its entire enterprise, thereby enabling cost savings and productivity improvements.

The solution offers procurement professionals greater visibility into, and control over, their print procurement expenditures, the solution provider says. Print buyers and project managers benefit from automated tools to generate complex project specifications, request and approve quotations, select vendors, centrally manage print jobs and collaborate with suppliers online, according to Printcafe.

"Cingular Wireless clearly understands the importance of enterprisewide print spend management and is well-positioned to gain significant benefits and competitive edge from its EnterpriseSite print e-procurement solution," said Marc Olin, Printcafe's president and CEO.

Other Printcafe customers include AOL Time Warner, Merrill Lynch and General Motors.
