DB Schenker to receive airport direct export services for its air freight traffic from China and Hong Kong

Hong KongJuly 30, 2012Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Ltd. (Hacis) extended the scope of its agreement with DB Schenker’s Hong Kong division to provide it with its Airport Direct Export Services for the company’s export air freight traffic from China and Hong Kong. The Airport Direct Export Handling Center at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will now handle around one third of all DB Schenker’s Hong Kong air cargo volumes.

“Hong Kong is a primary gateway for DB Schenker’s business in Southern China,” said Soren Poulsen, Managing Director, Hong Kong & South China, DB Schenker. “Hacis’ strategic location within HKIA’s cargo area, its proximity to the airline cargo handling facilities and the comprehensive range of services it provides under one roof, will introduce enhanced speed and efficiency to our export operations and benefit of our customers. We look forward to expanding our partnership with Hacis in the future.”

Hacis operates autonomously   from Hactl, its parent company, to provide neutral services to all carriers and freight forwarders.

“Hacis offers a one-stop-shop for forwarders and logistics companies, providing them with all the resources and convenience of their own base at the airport,” said Kenneth Bell, Managing Director, Hacis. “Hacis’ Airport Direct Export Handling Center offers the best facilities for cargo handling processes in one location, ensuring that our customers’ shipments are handled safely at the very high service standards required. We are delighted that DB Schenker’s experiences with Hacis have led them to formalise and extend their relationship with us through this contract, to the benefit of both companies.”

In addition to handling, warehousing and added-value logistics services at HKIA, Hacis also provides local collection and deliveries throughout Hong Kong and the New Territories in addition to express road feeder services to and from six IATA-designated Inland Cargo Depots throughout China’s Pearl River Delta and Fujian Province regions.
