LXE's new vehicle-mount computers said to handle rugged industrial environments
Atlanta — March 30, 2004 — LXE Inc., a manufacturer of wireless computers it said are designed to improve the performance of supply chain execution applications, has introduced a full-screen VX5 vehicle-mount computer.
LXE said the VX5 comes with a Pentium III processor, and added that its impact-resistant aluminum casting and IP66 water seal rating enables the unit to handle harsh industrial environments.
The VX5 can be outfitted with the user's choice of Windows operating systems, either Windows 2000 Professional or XP Professional, and it comes with a 12.1-inch TFT indoor or outdoor display.
According to David Krebs, AIDC Group Manager for Venture Development Corp., "The VX5 complements LXE's vehicle-mounted computing solution portfolio. It addresses critical durability, communications and user-control requirements, and incorporates new design features such as a back-up UPS battery system and the Ram Mount bracket."
