Lifestyle retailer selects global order management, vendor advanced shipment notification from TradeStone Software
Gloucester, MA — May 25, 2004 — American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AE), a leading lifestyle retailer, said this week that it has selected TradeStone Software's SteppingStones Suite to advance the automation of its global sourcing initiatives. TradeStone said AE joins others retailers like The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc. and Ocean State Job Lots in recently selecting SteppingStones.
SteppingStones is set to deliver a composite view across multiple systems and eliminates replication and synchronization for AE, according to TradeStone. The provider also said the suite will foster quick adoption throughout AE's extended supply chain, making it easy for vendors and factories to collaborate with the company on orders, prepare packing lists and invoices, and provide advance ship notification.
Sue Welch, president and CEO of TradeStone Software, said that with her company's software global order management starts long before an order is generated and includes pre-planning for timely merchandise flow to the stores by selected criteria including color, size and delivery date. "Our software enables retailers to collaborate and plan months before an actual order is generated, helping to cut costs, boost efficiencies and shorten time-to-market," she commented.
"TradeStone's solution will allow us to leverage our current investment in software while strategically expanding functionality," said Michael Rempell, senior vice president and chief information officer of American Eagle Outfitters. "We are pleased to be working with TradeStone to expand our capabilities to define product, collaborate with vendors and manage purchases across our global supply chain."
