The TJX Companies Acquire VoiceLogistics

Decision follows extensive pilot program at Massachusetts distribution center

Princeton, NJ — July 9, 2004 — Voxware Inc., a provider supplier of voice-based solutions for the logistics workforce, announced that The TJX Companies Inc., the parent company of T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores, has acquired its VoiceLogistics solution.

The initial deployment site for Voxware's VoiceLogistics technology is the TJX distribution center in Woburn, Mass. In operation today, the system interacts with workers and coordinates a conveyor system to optimize the picking and distribution of products to stores.

"We insisted on quantifiable results," said Peter Lindenmeyer, senior vice president and director of Distribution Services for TJX. "Our audits of the VoiceLogistics system showed substantial increases in accuracy and productivity."

Tom Drury, Voxware CEO, said his company is pleased that an industry leader like The TJX Companies has chosen Voxware.

"They really put our VoiceLogistics software through its paces, conducting an extensive pilot program that focused on logistics challenges unique to the retail and garment industry sectors," he explained. "They also have a multilingual workforce, and the pilot program had to validate that workers who speak different languages can simultaneously interact with the same application."
