U.S. retailers sign up with software company for better view of inventory demand

Phoenix — November 22, 2004 — Demand management solutions provider JustEnough Software Corp. today announced U.S. customer wins with Philips Lighting,, Sit 'n Sleep, and Sheetz.

JustEnough provides solutions for retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors that link supply and demand chains to predict, manage and reduce the variability of demand.

Philips Lighting Co., the U.S.-based lighting company affiliated with Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands, is No. 1 in the global lighting market. Santa Monica, Calif.-based is an online retailer of cookware. Los Angeles-based Sit 'n Sleep is a retailer of bedding. And Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz is one of the country's most recognized convenience store companies.

"Retailers face the ongoing challenge of having products available for their loyal customers, but not excessive stock that forces them to mark down prices and hurt their margins," said Malcolm Buxton, president and CEO of JustEnough. "We're delighted to be helping our new customers eliminate excess stock, reduce lost sales and minimize administrative time at store and head office."

JustEnough analyzes raw historic data, policy and promotional information, and then uses demand forecasting techniques to create forecasts of demand, supply and inventory. Using data from any existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) or transaction system JustEnough generates intelligence against which its host of "what if" planning applications can be run.

JustEnough acts on its forecasts of demand, supply and inventory by generating transactions such as supplier orders, or by dynamically setting minimum/maximum levels that can be fed back into the underlying transaction system for execution at the distribution center (DC), DC to store, store to store or direct-store deliveries from suppliers.

Through its DemandChain Business Intelligence, JustEnough provides retailers and wholesalers with planning and performance management applications, including Merchandise Planning & Allocation, Advanced Predictive Analytics & Reporting, and Supplier Management to create collaborative demand plans that are integrated back into operations.
