The Global Electronics Association launched its Circularity Hub, an industry resource that provides a centralized home for the latest industry circularity standards, best practices, and resources to accelerate the industry’s sustainable evolution.

“As demand for electronics continues to grow, so too does our responsibility to design and manage products more sustainably. Circularity is about more than reducing waste, it’s about unlocking efficiency, innovation, and resilience across the entire industry,” says Dr. John W. Mitchell, Global Electronics Association president and CEO. “At the Global Electronics Association, we believe circularity is essential for sustainability and for the long-term competitiveness of our industry.”

Key takeaways:

·        The launch of the Hub is designed to amplify industry sustainability efforts as part of its Evolve initiative. Designed for use across the industry, the Hub curates unified, actionable strategies to scale circularity for engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, and decision-makers, providing sustainable solutions that lower material and operational costs to directly improve bottom lines. Key resources include in-depth guidance on circular design, materials, and supply chain strategies; practical tools and frameworks to support implementation; and industry standards that enable circularity.

“Faced with sourcing uncertainty and pricing volatility, the electronics ecosystem has an opportunity to embrace circularity to reduce risk and minimizing its environmental impact in the process,” says Dr. Kelly Scanlon, Global Electronics Association lead sustainability strategist. “With decades of experience amplifying electronics innovation, we are uniquely positioned to guide the industry’s next era – one defined by circularity.”
