Stora Enso, paper and packaging giant, is deploying a new tool to track products throughout its supply chain.
Responding to growing demand for improved transparency, Business Green reports that the company has developed an ECO tag that uses radio frequency identification technology (RFID) to attach tamper-proof supply chain information to products. The tag will provide employees and consumers with more visibility into how products are made and transported. Additionally, the tag could also be used in commercial supply chains as well as in retail and e-commerce applications.
To make the tag as eco-friendly as possible, it is made from paper rather than plastic, eliminating costs as well.
