Endor Labs announces Karl Mattson has been named as the company’s first chief information security officer (CISO). Hitachi Industrial Equipment & Solutions America Names New President
Hitachi Industrial Equipment & Solutions America, LLC announces that Luis Torres has been appointed as president. He succeeds Johan Chandra, who will transition to an advisory role within Hitachi Project Integration North America (HPIN), working on behalf of Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems in North America.
Since becoming president in April 2021, Chandra has integrated multiple businesses, transformed Hitachi Industrial Equipment & Solutions America and laying a strong foundation for future growth. In his new role, he will foster collaboration among the various Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems companies across North America.
Norfolk Southern Names New Members to Executive Leadership Team
Norfolk Southern Corporation names Jason A. Zampi as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, and has named Jason M. Morris as senior vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary, effective immediately.
Additionally, Brian Barr has been appointed to vice president and chief mechanical officer. In this role, Barr will lead mechanical operations across the company's 22-state network.
As CFO and treasurer, Zampi will oversee the company's financial departments as well as Strategic Planning. He has more than 28 years of finance and accounting expertise, including 13 years with Norfolk Southern where he has advanced through key roles in forecasting, budgeting, and corporate accounting. With an expert understanding of the company's business operations and a strong background in cost management, Zampi has been an integral part of the Norfolk Southern finance function, providing critical support for the business partners and actionable analysis to guide strategic planning. Prior to joining Norfolk Southern, Zampi was a senior manager with KPMG LLP. He is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Pennsylvania State University.
As CLO and corporate secretary, Morris will oversee the company's legal, government relations, corporate secretary, and compliance departments. He joined Norfolk Southern's legal department in 2010 and took on roles of increasing responsibility there before also serving in the Operations and Transformation divisions. Morris was appointed vice president Law in 2022. In addition to his highly impactful career as a lawyer, he has a robust background in public service, including serving as a legislative director in the U.S. House of Representatives and as a logistics readiness officer in the Virginia Air National Guard. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, the University of Virginia School of Law, and the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Barr joins Norfolk Southern from Union Pacific where he held the positions of GM Great Lakes Services and senior vice president, Transportation. Barr started his career as a craft dispatcher in 1998 working at Conrail and, later, CSX. During his 26-year career, Barr has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility with multiple Class I railroads, including chief mechanical officer and senior vice president Engineering and Mechanical while at CSX.
Chris Burroughs Named Next President & CEO of TIA
The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) board of directors announces that Christopher Burroughs will succeed Anne Reinke as president & CEO of TIA at the end of November. Burroughs has been with TIA for 13 years and most recently as its vice president of Government Affairs for the past six years. He currently oversees all legislative and regulatory efforts before Congress and the federal agencies. He has played a key role in positioning TIA as the Trusted Voice of the 3PL Industry with Congressional and FMCSA leaders. Under his leadership TIA has obtained support for many key policy priorities that have moved our industry forward, including the passage of CTPAT Pilot Program Act of 2023. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Plan and was nominated two years ago to serve as the chair of the Industry Advisory Subcommittee.
