Ryder Opens New Facility for E-Commerce Offerings

The new offering is an alternative to third-party marketplaces and will fulfill product orders from manufacturers directly to consumers.

Ryder System is will now an e-commerce fulfillment center for manufacturers that do business online. The new offering is an alternative to third-party marketplaces and will fulfill product orders from manufacturers directly to consumers.

The two multi-client facilities will open in Perris, California and Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, the company will also expand an existing warehouse in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. The facilities will be fully operational by May and will service an existing customer. 

“Just ahead of the peak holiday season, we transitioned our client from a third-party marketplace to Ryder’s e-commerce fulfillment solution and immediately delivered double-digit, week-over-week volume growth,” Steve Sensing, Ryder president of global supply chain solutions said in a statement. “During the period of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Ryder delivered a 268 percent increase over expected volume and achieved 99.9 percent on-time and in-full shipping accuracy.”

With the e-commerce fulfillment facilities, Ryder can now deliver small to large parcel goods to 95 percent of the U.S. in two days or less.
