In order to win over shoppers this holiday season, Target is offering free two-day shipping with no minimum purchase required starting Nov. 1 through Dec. 22. Currently, the perk is reserved for those who spend over $35.
The retailer is also offering a "Drive Up" service at nearly 1,000 stores, where shoppers can place their orders online and have them brought directly to their cars. Additionally, its same-day delivery option through Shipt will be offered nationwide.
CNBC reports that Target has been investing in its supply chain the last few years to give customers more ways to shop in stores or online. More confident than ever, the retailer is sure that more customers will come to its stores than ever since Toys R Us closed down and Sears filed for bankruptcy. Also, the store's exclusive clothing brands such as "Brand New Day" and "Cat & Jack" have both reached $1 billion in sales.
Target fulfilled 70 percent of all digital orders last holiday season, and the number is only expected to be higher this year. CNBC reports that the retailer is hiring 20 percent more seasonal workers than it did a year ago. About 7,500 of the new workers will work in its warehouses and help pack boxes.
