Daifuku Webb Holding Acquires Wynright Corporation

Automated storage and retrieval systems provider expands warehousing and distribution by acquiring intelligent material handling system provider

Farmington Hills, Mich.—Oct. 3, 2013—Daifuku Webb Holding Company, a subsidiary of Daifuku Company, Ltd., announced that it completed the acquisition of Wynright Corporation, which is headquartered in Elk Grove, Ill. Wynright, an integrator and provider of intelligent material handling systems, is to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Daifuku Webb.

Brian Stewart, chairman, president and CEO of Daifuku Webb Holding Company, said, “Daifuku has an enormous customer base for its advanced automated storage and retrieval systems in Asia and Europe. This acquisition expands our warehousing and distribution business in North America by greatly improving the advanced technologies and services we offer our clients.”

Wynright designs, manufactures, integrates and installs a full spectrum of warehouse and distribution center solutions, including conveyor and sortation systems, voice- and light-directed order fulfillment technology, a suite of warehouse controls and execution software, robotics, mezzanines, and structures. It has regional offices and manufacturing locations throughout the U.S.

The acquisition of Wynright fits into Daifuku’s new corporate management plan, Value Innovation 2017, which started in April 2013. The plan outlines the company’s goals of increasing sales and operating margins, as well as enhancing its role as a true value innovator that provides the best solutions for its customers.
