Singapore—Feb. 27, 2012—Third-party logistics provider Damco, which specializes in customized freight forwarding and supply chain solutions, appointed Tanate Piriyothinkul as country manager for Malaysia.

Effective March 1, Piriyothinkul will drive business growth in the country and offer both existing and new customers logistics and supply chain opportunities in Malaysia.

“Tanate has been instrumental in the development of our products and the rapid growth of a number of business areas in the last several years,” said Kiattichai Pitpreecha, Managing Director, Thailand and Malaysia Cluster. “Tanate’s diverse functional background and hands-on product experience in business together with his  strong commercial acumen will be essential to accelerate the growth and development of our business in Malaysia.”

Piriyothinkul’s career spans 15 years in the AP Moller Maersk Group, most recently serving as General Manager, Contract Logistics and Business Development for Damco, Thailand. He joined the Group as a trainee in 1997. He spent most of his career in logistics—both in operations and in business development across various products—having worked for three years in India, and more than two years in regional supply chain development in Asia Pacific.

“I am looking forward to this new challenge of taking our business in Malaysia to new heights,” confirmed Piriyothinkul.
