Legrand Signs with Catalyst

French electrical systems company looks to provider for supply chain execution solution

Milwaukee January 21, 2003 French electrical systems company Legrand Group has signed an extension of its existing relationship with Catalyst as a supply chain partner in order to meet the ongoing and future demands of Legrand's global logistics requirements.

The Legrand Group specializes in systems for electrical installations and information networks in residential and commercial buildings and in industry. The group generated sales of about $3 billion in 2001 and employs more than 27,000 people across the world.

The French company first turned to Catalyst in early 1999, when Legrand purchased Catalyst's warehouse management solution to manage its 700,000-square-foot facility in Vemeuil, 40 miles north of Paris. Now Legrand is counting on Catalyst's supply chain execution solution to help streamline its supply chain operations.

Eric Seurin, director of the purchasing and logistics department at Legrand, said the company incorporates a large variety of manufacturing and distribution companies with very high volumes of order lines and goods that are distributed nationally and internationally.

"Catalyst has delivered a solution that meets our current supply chain requirements and provides tangible financial and operational benefits generated by optimizing overall efficiency," Seurin said. "The new agreement means they will continue to support us with a flexible arrangement that covers the group's future global supply chain requirements."

"The agreement means that Catalyst will deliver manageable supply chain execution solutions that allow Legrand the freedom to implement new hardware equipment that may be required, such as RF, UNIX server, PCs, printers and automated equipment," added Simon Shorthose, Catalyst International's sales and marketing director for EMEA.
