Cardiff, Wales—May 16, 2013 (PR Newswire) —DeSL announced that Turkish-based fashion brand and retailer COLIN's, selected and implemented DeSL's product lifecycle management (PLM) solution. Established in Istanbul in 1983, COLIN's expanded to 670 stores in 32 countries. Following a detailed and comprehensive evaluation of the global PLM market, COLIN's selected the DeSL PLM solution to help support the company's growth plan to achieve 1,200 stores and presence in 50 countries within a five-year timescale.
COLIN's was impressed with the DeSL PLM solution on a number of levels. Firstly, the breadth of the solution to support not only the full design and development process, but also detailed process management across purchase order management, order placement, supplier management, sample management, manufacturing and quality control. Additionally, the ability of the system to manage supplier quotations, pricing and document management to full collaboration across the product lifecycle gave assurance to COLIN's that the DeSL PLM solution would meet all of its specific requirements.
Caglar Belirgen, head of the sourcing and technical group at COLIN'S, commented, "The fact that the DeSL PLM solution is highly configurable was a huge advantage for us, giving us the ability to have a fully customized system for our company without the need for hardcore programming and development. We needed a solution that would help manage highly changeable and complex processes across the whole development, manufacturing and delivery process. The DeSL solution directly addresses this, through providing a platform of collaboration with our suppliers, ensuring that all communications are tracked, monitored and updated in real time."
Caglar continued, "Many activities change constantly, such as the sample process, and changes made during manufacturing that influence costs and pricing, which then impacts distribution and warehousing. DeSL PLM gives us the ability to manage constant change in all areas of the business, react accordingly and provide visibility of the complete supply chain operation."
