Taps Provia Software to coordinate, organize warehouse processes and manage multiple customer inventories

Grand Rapids, MI — January 4, 2006 — Standard Transportation, a third-party logistics (3PL) and warehouse services provider, said this week it has selected Provia Software's FourSite and ViaView supply chain execution solutions to help manage the company's warehouse operations.

Established in 1984 as one of the first transportation brokers, Standard Transportation currently operates four warehouses in Joplin, Mo., totaling almost 500,000 square-feet.

By deploying Provia's FourSite solution, Standard Transportation said it will be able to coordinate and organize its most complicated warehouse processes and manage multiple customer inventories in each of its warehouses.

Provia's visibility and event management solution, ViaView, will enable the company to collaborate with supply chain partners and customers to help them further improve their operations.

Given that our customers have a wide range of needs and requirements, we needed a flexible solution that could adapt to each of their individual requests, said David Cash, IT manager for Standard Transportation. After evaluating several supply chain execution providers in the market, we selected Provia because the flexibility built into its solutions allows the software to mold to our specific needs, which, ultimately, helps us better serve our customers.

As a supply chain execution provider, Provia said it has helped several 3PLs optimize their supply chain operations and improve customer service. We are pleased to add Standard Transportation to our list of 3PL customers and believe it's a testament to our domain knowledge of the industry, said Paul Crist, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Provia.
