Enterprise resource planning provider strengthens vertical industry expertise in the metals, wire and cable industries
Indianapolis — February 23, 2006 — Enterprise resource planning (ERP) company Made2Manage Systems has acquired AXIS Computer Systems, a privately held, Marlborough, Mass.-based supplier of ERP software and services to manufacturers within the metals, wire and cable industries.
AXIS solutions are used by a range of company sizes across North America, from small operations to Fortune 500 businesses.
"The acquisition of AXIS is in line with Made2Manage Systems' continued strategy to gain specific manufacturing expertise within the ERP software market," said Tom Millay, vice president of industry solutions for Made2Manage. "AXIS offers deep functionality that addresses the unique challenges of customers within the metals, wire and cable industries, helping Made2Manage Systems expand its offering of industry-specific technology solutions for potential customers."
AXIS will now operate as a business unit of Made2Manage Systems, with Janna Hoiberg, AXIS' former director of operations, acting as general manager. Principal shareholder, founder and CEO Ed Verock will not continue with the business and plans to retire.
Made2Manage said it remains committed to the ongoing sales, maintenance, support and enhancement of AXIS' product and service line to meet the needs of both existing and future customers. Made2Manage plans to maintain AXIS' headquarters in Marlborough, Mass.
"We're extremely pleased with the acquisition and the value it will bring to our customers," said Verock. "I'm more than confident our customers are in capable hands and that Made2Manage Systems will add value to their businesses."
Recent Made2Manage Systems acquisitions include: DTR Software International in August 2004, assets of ADS Information Systems in September 2004, and Capri Corp., through its operating subsidiary Cimnet Systems Inc., in December 2005.
"This acquisition marks Made2Manage Systems' fourth in the last 15 months and immediately follows our recent announcement that we have access to millions more in growth capital via a partnership with Thoma Cressey Equity Partners," said Jeff Tognoni, CEO of Made2Manage Systems.
Tognoni said that his company would continue throughout 2006 to execute its strategy of acquiring companies like AXIS and improve the software ownership experience for all its customers.
