Rochester, NY— February 9, 2005 — Dutch firm NedTrain is set to upgrade to the latest version of a global planning and inventory optimization solution from Xelus, the software company announced today.

NedTrain, part of European railway network Nederlandse Spoorwegen, ensures the maximum availability of safe and reliable trains by providing a range of services, from maintenance and cleaning to arranging conversion and overhaul, plus total rolling stock innovation.

Currently maintaining nearly 3,000 rolling stock units for different operators, NedTrain will use XelusParts, including the XelusDatamart, to improve data access and to enable managers and business analysts to monitor and manage the business.

Xelus, a provider of service parts management and reverse supply chain solutions for Global 1000 organizations, said that its XelusDatamart solution insulates customers from application data changes, resulting in simplified reporting and analysis.

"In order for a world class planning system to deliver maximum value, it must provide visibility across the evolving multi-enterprise supply chain on a global basis," said Ed Wodarski, vice president of strategy and marketing at Xelus. "The XelusDatamart allows stakeholders from the [chief financial officer] to the material planner to monitor key performance indicators against metrics at any level of the supply chain, without any IT expertise."

Nederlandse Spoorwegen is one of the most intensively used railway networks in the world. NedTrain is headquartered in Utrecht, with 38 overhauling, maintenance and service businesses active throughout the Netherlands.

Domestic and foreign transport operators utilize NedTrain's services for planned maintenance and cleaning work, but also in the event of unforeseen faults. Due to its complete national coverage NedTrain Services is very close to the transport process, including daily technical maintenance, internal and external cleaning and mobile service.
