Enterprise infrastructure company to use hosted, Web-based service for global inventory visibility across outsourced manufacturers
Palo Alto, CA — April 18, 2005 — Supply chain software provider Valdero Corp. said that Aruba Networks, an enterprise infrastructure company, has selected Valdero On Demand, a new hosted, Web-based service to give a global view of inventory movements across its outsourced manufacturing partners.
Based in Sunnyvale, Calif., Aruba offers products that address changes taking place in enterprise networks caused by user mobility, security and wireless technology. The company has operations in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific and India and employs staff around the world.
With improved visibility into the operations of its international manufacturing partners, Aruba said it has a clearer picture of its inventory levels or readiness to ship products. Widely differing time zones further complicated the situation. To meet customer commitments while not carrying too much inventory, Aruba needs to have a near real-time view of inventory, even if it is at a strategic partner's location.
Valdero said its On Demand product integrates information from a strategic partner, such as Flextronics in China, without requiring Aruba to make any investment in IT resources or traditional integration costs. With its Web-based solution, Valdero gives Aruba access to a global picture of its inventory in order to make decisions on usage and deployment while minimizing inventory exposure and maximizing on-time order shipment.
Aurba said this allows it to manage its own business instead of support business applications software.
"At the rate Aruba is growing, we don't have time to reinvent the wheel," said Richard Wilmer, vice president of operations at Aruba Networks. "Valdero has a proven record of success in providing supply chain management solutions. Valdero On Demand delivers that expertise hassle free to companies like Aruba. As a result, we anticipate being able to control our inventory and further accelerate revenue growth."
