Broader rollout of Verticalnet apps to extend spend analysis beyond direct corporate spending
Malvern, PA July 1, 2005 MasterBrand Cabinets has opted to expand its use of a spend management solution from Verticalnet, extending its deployment to cover its indirect materials spending in addition to the company's direct materials spend.
The second largest cabinet manufacturer in the United States, MasterBrand will be upgrading to Verticalnet XE Spend Manager 5.2 and expanding usage of the Verticalnet Spend Manager solution to include indirect materials. Currently, MasterBrand uses the Verticalnet Spend Manager and Performance Manager solutions to manage all of its direct materials spending.
"The Verticalnet Spend Manager solution has been in place at MasterBrand since 2002, and has become a core application for our sourcing organization," said Brian Robinson, vice president of strategic sourcing for MasterBrand. "After using the solution to drive significant cost efficiencies and manage supplier performance across our direct materials, we are excited to upgrade to the latest version and to achieve the same level of visibility for our indirect materials categories."
Robinson said that upon completion of the project, the company would have a single point of visibility into most of its spend across MasterBrands' seven divisions. "The planned upgrade provides real-time feedback to strategic supplier partners on MasterBrand performance measurements like quality and delivery," Robinson said.
"MasterBrand Cabinets has been a spend analysis thought-leader for the past three years," said Nate Lentz, Verticalnet's CEO and president. "We are proud of the value that MasterBrand has achieved using our solutions, and we are eager to partner with Brian Robinson to help him and his team achieve the next level of strategic sourcing savings."
