Martini Time for Intel

Intel and Blue Martini join forces

SAN MATEO, CA PRNewswire December 28, 2000 December has been a busy month for Blue Martini, an enterprise ASP focused on targeting and interacting with customers. They formed an alliance with Apropos Technology to integrate products, in addition to their marketing and sales campaigns. Blue Martini then got more press when its stock picked up after being mentioned in Barron's magazine as a top pick. Now, Blue Martini shows up in the limelight again after signing an agreement with technology giant Intel Corporation to collaborate on engineering, marketing and sales activities.

According to the agreement, the companies will work together at Intel Solutions Centers to optimize the Java-architected Blue Martini Customer Interactions System for the Intel Pentium III Xeon processor as well as the upcoming Itanium processor family. The companies hope that a tight integration between Intel-powered hardware and the Blue Martini Customer Interaction System (B2B and B2C Editions) will make for high performance and scalability of all Blue Martini applications on Intel-based platforms and architectures.

We're seeing a continued, upward trend from our customer base towards end-to-end solutions, said Chip Overstreet, vice president of business development at Blue Martini. The requirement is not only for packaged applications, but also for partners that are already collaborating at the technology level. By working closely with Intel, we will be able to deliver to our customers a technically superior, comprehensive and integrated package that meets their requirements to help understand, target and interact with customers.

As a part of the relationship, Blue Martini Software will join the Intel e-Business Center Affiliate Program to showcase Blue Martini's software to key technology decision-makers. The companies will produce technical papers on the results of the tuning and porting, and Blue Martini intends to create a training module for the Blue Martini Customer Interaction System that will be offered through Intel training programs to e-business service providers.

The next generation of e-business demands solutions that meet the broad spectrum of customer interactions while maintaining scalability and cost-effective deployment, said Will Swope, general manager, Intel Solutions Enabling Group. We look forward to working with Blue Martini Software to optimize its Customer Interaction System to work on IA systems to improve business operations for our joint customers.
