SAN DIEGO, CA January 16, 2001 Is that the sound of a champagne cork popping? Chances are, Peregrine is celebrating today. The e-marketplace enablement and infrastructure management software provider announced that Texaco has chosen Peregrine as its B2B e-business broker and ASP to aid the energy company's e-commerce capabilities.
The news is especially good for Peregrine, considering that the company is counting on its ASP business as its big revenue driver (60% for recurring revenue), whereas at one time, almost all attention was given to traditional software licensing revenues.
The Peregrine EMG (E-Markets Group) will be providing Texaco with e-business connectivity, software and services, hosted on EMG's portal, Get2Connect.netSM, enabling Texaco to conduct business transactions over the Internet. Peregrine promises Texaco that its ASP offering will deliver time-to-market on-ramping of suppliers.
Peregrine's ASP offering delivers critical time-to-market, enabling businesses to remain focused on key corporate goals, said Louis Blatt, senior vice president and general manager of Peregrine EMG. As a hosted service, ASP also provides rapid access to new e-commerce capabilities and technologies, such as Power.Enterprise for real-time XML transformation and connectivity to multiple e-market environments.
