fourthchannel and Brio sign partnership

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- February 27, 2001-- The forthcoming version of fourthchannel's hosted sell-side e-business suite will include business intelligence and analytic software from Brio Technology, under a partnership agreement announced today.

The agreement calls for the integration of Brio ONE's customizable reporting capabilities into fourthchannel's ProfitBuilder Commerce Suite, which combines personalized catalog, merchandising and configuration capabilities with services that are well suited for use by manufacturers who sell complex, configure-to-order products through multiple channels.

Available in the version of the suite to be released this spring, Brio's business intelligence analysis tools will give fourthchannel customers the ability to view historical and forecasting sales data.

"Our customers need to analyze their e-business channels with the same depth as they look at their other sales channels -- only faster and more efficiently," said Les McNeill, fourthchannel's vice president of marketing. "These new reporting tools can be used to analyze pricing, evaluate promotions and understand buyer behavior while providing quantitative input into key site design and product messaging decisions."

Brio ONE's capabilities will enable business and product line managers who are the front-line administrators for their company's Web selling solution to view and customize a variety of detailed reports. Visitor reports track the number of visits to the Web selling site in both numerical and graphical format by total visits, unique visitors, repeat visitors and total page views. Transaction reports can be customized by customer and product. Site administrators can then use the information in conjunction with ProfitBuilder Commerce Suite's site management wizards to create customized promotional packages and product bundles that respond directly to customer interest and buying patterns.

"There is a growing necessity in business for strategic analytic solutions to maximize and exploit competitive advantages," said Dan Dubriwny, vice president of global alliances for Brio Technology, in explaining why his company's software is a good complement to fourthchannel's suite.
