EC Outlook announces support for chemical industry's CIDX specifications

Houston June 26, 2001 B2B integrator EC Outlook announced today support for the Chemical Industry Data Exchange's (CIDX) Chem eStandards, an Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based standards of data exchange specifically for the buying, selling and delivery of chemicals.

EC Outlook works with several CIDX members including BASF, DuPont and Lyondell Chemical. Chemical companies using EC Outlook's B2B integration platform can process transactions with trading partners using the CIDX Chem eStandard.

The solution provider says its platform also enables companies to convert their non-CIDX compliant documents to the CIDX standard.

CIDX is an organization of chemical companies set up in 1985 to develop industry-wide guidelines for the ANSI X12 version of electronic data interchange used in North America. With the rise of XML, CIDX has moved to incorporate the new specification into its industrywide standards.
