Learning to Manage T&E Expense

Sylvan goes live with phase two of ProcureEdge solution

Atlanta and Portland, OR January 25, 2001 In a joint statement released today, Sylvan Learning Systems Inc., a provider of education services, said it has gone live with the second phase of its ProcureEdge implementation; and CoreHarbor, an e-commerce service provider, announced that it has completed the deployment of the Ariba travel and expense (T&E) module for the Ariba Buyer solution currently deployed at Sylvan.

The companies expect the new model to help management more efficiently track and manage company travel costs, ensure compliance with company policies and leverage relationships with travel agencies for greater cost savings. ProcureEdge provides Sylvan access to Ariba technologies, implementation services, ongoing management and support, and maintenance for a monthly fee.

"We chose to add the T&E module to our existing hosted ProcureEdge solution because we saw it as a logical extension to our current cost-saving strategies, said Kevin Shaffer, vice president and corporate controller of Sylvan Learning Systems. "We originally selected CoreHarbor for its product and procurement knowledge. We selected CoreHarbor for the deployment of our T&E solution because we knew that, with its product integration expertise, the company could quickly implement and deploy the T&E module."

In May, Sylvan Learning Systems went live with CoreHarbor's ProcureEdge solution including ghosted p-cards and integration to PeopleSoft. Currently they are utilizing 14 supplier catalogs and are actively ordering through Ariba Buyer. CoreHarbor continues to provide a hosted infrastructure, catalog management, support services and business analysis on a quarterly basis.
