Cambridge, MA and New York April 9, 2002 Deloitte Consulting and Frictionless Commerce, an enterprise software company, today announced an alliance to provide consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies with an enterprise sourcing solution.
This solution couples Deloitte Consulting's experience in the CPG industry with Frictionless' enterprise sourcing platform to create enterprise sourcing that the two companies said targeted specifically to the business processes of Global 2500 CPG companies.
According to the statement released by Deloitte and Frictionless, the new enterprise sourcing solution will include such things as CPG-specific consulting services, customized and re-usable CPG category templates, hosting services, and service and support packages.
Several companies, including Philip Morris USA, are implementing Frictionless Sourcing software and utilizing this joint solution to automate their sourcing process. "We recognize that companies need enterprise sourcing solutions targeted to their specific business processes," said Jim Haines, principal and a leader of Deloitte Consulting's Consumer Business Practice. "Companies demand this level of understanding in their sourcing applications and in the CPG area they are realizing a significantly higher level of ROI by using this solution."
