Colorado Springs, CO October 3, 2002 Optika Inc., an enterprise content management (ECM) provider of imaging, workflow and collaboration software, has announced an agreement with Select Technologies Inc. (STI), Boise, Idaho-based provider of records management solutions.
Optika said the partnership is going to initially provide for joint implementations by the companies for their respective imaging/workflow and records management solutions. In early 2003, Optika and STI will deliver a product called Acorde Records Manager as an extension of the Optika Acorde product family.
"Organizations have recently received an important wake up call regarding the importance of applying records management policies to electronic content," said Andrew Warzecha, senior vice president, META Group. "Legal discovery and/or threat of discovery are causing many organization to re-examine the types of content they are retaining, the risks associated with it and how to best meet retention schedules."
Optika and Select Technologies have a number of mutual customers utilizing their solutions, including an agribusiness corporation, J.R. Simplot Co. of Boise, Idaho. According to David McDermott, retention analyst/records supervisor at J.R. Simplot, "We are very happy with Select Technologies and Optika and we anticipate positive results from the integration between the two systems."
