Ross Taps DAVACO

Retailer using online sourcing platform as part of broader supply management initiative

Dallas, TX — April 23, 2003 — Ross Stores is set to use an e-sourcing platform from DAVACO Sourcing as part of a broader supply management initiative, the solution provider has announced.

Newark, Calif.-based Ross operates more than 507 stores in 23 states. The Fortune 500 company reported fiscal 2002 sales of $3.5 billion.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ross will leverage DAVACO's bidding/auction platform, as well as gain access to the provider's network of qualified suppliers. The agreement follows the completion of several pilot programs that DAVACO Sourcing and Ross began in May 2002.

"Ross is committed to providing the best quality and price to its customer," said Phil Leichliter, director of store operations and corporate purchasing at Ross. "By partnering with DAVACO Sourcing we are able to literally drive millions of dollars to the bottom line, resulting in better overall corporate efficiencies and cost savings for our customers."

Under the terms of the agreement with DAVACO Sourcing, Ross is using the technology platform as a part of its overall supply management initiative.

To date, DAVACO has sourced a range of items for Ross, including telephone/paging systems, IT supplies and equipment, vending machine services and corrugated boxes.
