Colorado Springs, CO — August 13, 2003 — Enterprise content management (ECM) provider Optika Inc. recently announced it has completed the integration of its Acorde product family with EMC Corp.'s Centera content addressed storage (CAS) solution.

The company said EMC Centera represents a software-driven storage architecture specifically designed to address the unique information storage requirements of fixed content such as invoices, purchase orders, contracts, corporate records, e-mails and other business transaction-related documents and information.

EMC Centera CAS, a disk-based WORM (Write Once, Read Many) solution, provides Acorde administrators with an alternative that, used in conjunction with Acorde Context and Records Management, meets the requirements for SEC Rule 17a-4, DoD 5015.2, and 21 CFR Part 11.

"Partnering with EMC Corp. furthers our strategy to help organizations achieve compliance with industry and regulatory standards while driving return on investment throughout the lifecycle of documents and transactions," said Mark Ruport, president, CEO and chairman of Optika Inc. "We are committed to helping our clients achieve operational efficiency and cost savings, and see the same ideals in our colleagues at EMC."

With Centera Compliance Edition, Optika said compliance officers and IT administrators can use all the basic benefits of a CAS solution, plus the compliance-focused features of information retention and disposition enforcement. Centera has hardware and software controls that enforce information retention and authenticity at an individual record level.
