XPO Logistics is closing its 571,000 square-foot Maryland-based warehouse in March, the Baltimore Sun reports. Employees may have the opportunity to transfer to another XPO site in the area.

The closing will affect 167 XPO Logistics employees. When the facility first opened in 2016, it was expected that it would hire 400 people, but they never got the number up.

As the county is becoming a booming logistics area, executives believe that employees could easily find other work elsewhere. According to the Baltimore Sun, a number of other industrial facilities are nearby, and the area allows companies to invest within it to qualify for property and income tax credits in exchange for creating jobs and capital investments.
