Macy's is planning on hiring 80,000 temporary workers for the holiday seasons, with 23,500 working solely in fulfillment centers.

Macy's has been vamping its online presence lately to attract more customers. In the second quarter, the company's online business reached double-digit growth, more than 50 percent in the first half of its fiscal year from a year earlier.
