Cincinnati—Mar. 11, 2014—Intelligrated, a North American-based automated material handling solutions provider, announced the release of its new moto- driven roller (MDR) transfer conveyor. The section facilitates a 90-degree change in direction of cases, polybags and totes to satisfy the product handling demands of e-commerce and omnichannel fulfillment operations.
The MDR transfer features drive rollers with integral 24-volt DC motors for individually powered zones, and multiple transfer belts with adjustable band spacing to maximize product control and operational flexibility needs. The innovative design maintains a constant product height, increasing power efficiency, item control and throughput rates.
Ideal for close operator interaction, the bi-directional MDR transfer offers quiet operation and run-on-demand features that use up to 50 percent less energy than traditional conveyors. Improved controls and efficient designs enable quick startup, simple belt replacement and easy maintenance for maximum uptime.
"An increasing number of distribution operations face the challenge of handling a variety of product types, and this MDR transfer helps operators manage the challenges of omni-channel fulfillment,” said Jim Gable, product manager, motorized roller conveyors.
