Houston—Feb. 3, 2014—CEVA Logistics, a supply chain management company, announced the release of CEVA’s Mobility Suite, a strategic mobility and shared-network suite of solutions based upon the CEVA Matrix Transportation Management Solution (TMS).
CEVA’s Mobility Suite was developed to improve operational efficiencies and provide an enhanced customer experience by delivering real-time information and visibility across the entire supply chain. Additionally, e-commerce-related shipments are playing an important role in the vitality of large and small businesses, and for the supply chain industry. CEVA’s Mobility Suite addresses the surging demand in the business-to-consumer market associated with supporting ever-increasing number of sales performed through multiple e-commerce channels.
CEVA’s Mobility Suite advances CEVA’s TMS capabilities in a suite of key functions, including global positioning system (GPS) tracking, planning and dispatching, visibility, and fleet and asset management. The multi-platform (iOS, Android and Windows Mobile) smartphone application boasts the following key features:
- Real-time shipment milestones, improved delivery performance and electronic signatures.
- Electronic checklists, proof-of-delivery receipts and the corresponding paperwork.
- Creating/updating consignment orders, consignment status and exception notifications.
- Driver availability, trip status and current location visibility, and dynamic dispatch.
- Mobile dashboard and reporting.
- Damaged goods workflow management.
- Real-time customer surveys and image capture for home delivery services.
These enhanced capabilities not only allow for tighter control of event management and dynamic planning, but also provide a new set of customer service functionality, which is easily configured to match specific customer and operational requirements. The solution augments the end-user experience by providing the opportunity for real-time customer satisfaction surveys to be returned to customer service departments.
"The proliferation of mobile devices and global growth of Internet accessibility has encouraged businesses to re-evaluate their online business model. Selling online puts a business’ fulfilment strategy under the microscope," said Vittorio Aronica, senior vice president of integrated systems and solutions (IS&S) for CEVA’s Americas region. "By delivering better visibility across the supply chain, our customers will see operational savings, increased efficiency and a unique customer experience."
“The new release is a major upgrade to CEVA’s Mobility platform. This further enhances our flagship shared-network solution, which is powered by CEVA Matrix TMS,” said Deepak Dodani, vice president of IS&S global supply chain and transport management for CEVA. “CEVA Matrix TMS puts significant capabilities in the hands of dispatchers and can truly change the way we look at transport execution. The mobile workforce and central dispatch can go beyond local geographies, and start to optimize and load plan entire regions comprised of dozens of hubs. This capability will in turn drive down cost, improve delivery performance and enhance overall customer satisfaction."
