Miami—Aug. 22, 2012—Commercial transportation and supply chain management solutions provider Ryder System Inc. will provide Multi Group Logistics Inc., a provider of expedited asset-based truckload service of general dry commodities, with on-site maintenance for its entire fleet of trucks and trailers and a full service lease for 205 heavy duty tractors from Ryder.
“Maintenance is a key element of our ‘on time, every time’ commitment to our customers,” said Vassil Bayraktarov, President of Multi Group Logistics. “We rely on our maintenance provider to maximize the uptime and safety of our fleet. We looked at Ryder’s history and experience providing vehicle maintenance and decided that having that expertise on-site would provide the reliability, convenience, and speed we needed to keep that promise.”
Ryder’s Full Service Lease is a turnkey lease program that includes vehicle configuration, financing, acquisition, maintenance and disposal. The company’s On-Site Maintenance facility, which will be located at Multi Group Logistics’ Franklin Park headquarters, will service the trucking company’s full fleet of 500 vehicles, which include the 205 heavy duty tractors leased from Ryder and 675 trailers. In addition, Multi Group Logistics will be able to receive service for its entire fleet at any of Ryder’s maintenance facilities throughout Ryder’s U.S. network of facilities. The On-Site Maintenance facility was built by Multi Group Logistics and equipped by Ryder with the latest diagnostic technology and computerized maintenance scheduling and recordkeeping systems. The shop will be able to accommodate the maintenance of all of Multi Group’s 1,175 pieces of equipment.
“Running an efficient maintenance operation for commercial vehicles can be a challenging task, with constantly changing vehicle technologies, regulatory requirements, training, tooling and staffing needs,” said Dennis Cooke, President of Global Fleet Management Solutions for Ryder. “Our customers turn to Ryder for our expertise and 80 years of experience in the industry. We make it our business to give them the service levels they need, so they can focus on what they do best.”
