Auburn Hills, Mich.—March 8, 2012— Provider of Plex Online, Cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) for manufacturers, Plex Systems Inc.’s solutions are now compliant with SSAE 16, an auditing standard which replaces SAS 70. The ERP provider received a SOC 1 report while the SOC 2 report is in progress.
Presented by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 introduces reporting requirements for service organizations while facilitating convergence of accounting standards between the U.S.-based framework and the globally accepted principle (ISAE 3402) for reporting on controls at service organizations.
Companies undergoing an SSAE 16 examination produce a description of their system along with providing an assertion by management. The system includes services provided, along with the supporting processes, policies, procedures, personnel and operational activities that constitute the service organization's core activities. The written assertion by management forms one of the key differences with previous standards which did not require this document.
“The community of Plex Online users can be assured that our compliance with SSAE 16 acknowledges we have met evolving auditing standards for our business processes,” said Tom DeCoe, Vice President of Infrastructure, Plex Systems. “Adjusting our processes to adhere to these auditing standards ensures we are in compliance in the U.S. market and addressing the globally accepted ISAE 3402 principles.”
