At its annual media conference, Volkswagen confirmed that its all electric Sedric shuttle will eventually get made.
The Sedric EV appeared this year as an autonomous, four passenger micro bus complete with a yellow paint job, similar to the buses that take children to school. When the Sedric was first unveiled, it was billed as Volkswagen’s first ever Level 5 autonomous car.
VW's step into autonomous vehicles is a direct hit to competitors like GM and Tesla. The Sedric is a well-suited answer to tackle the problem of getting to and from a well-bounded area by public transportation.
